Pickering, Ontario

Pickering is Durham Region's most westward city. The city is about 30 minutes from downtown Toronto. It borders Toronto and Markham to the West, Uxbridge to the North, and Ajax/Whitby to the East.

The city is serviced by Durham Region Transit and GO Transit. Pickering has one GO train station stop, which provides a comfortable and relaxing commute to Toronto. The city is accessible by both the 401 and the 407 ETR.

Durham Live is currently under construction in Pickering. Durham Live is an entertainment and tourism complex that includes attractions like a casino, convention centre, restaurants, cinemas, and an indoor water park. It will add nearly 10,000 jobs to the Durham Region Economy.

Pickering is known for its beautiful waterfront. The waterfront includes parks such as Alex Robertson Park, Beachfront park, and Frenchman's Bay. Pickering has a big network of paths and trails perfect for walking, biking, running, or hiking.

The city has several elementary, public and private schools. Post-secondary education in the area includes the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, York University, Ryerson University, and Durham College.
